Sewing Room Organization With Mason Jars
Sewing is a craft that I picked up when I was a little girl. Cross-stitch is my favorite. Its a little labor intensive, but so lovely when you're done. Right now we're packing up our entire home (scary and exciting) to move across country. So, in my supreme wisdom, as I pull things out to pack, I'm organizing them so they're ready to go when we arrive. I know... I might just be in denial that I can get all this organization done and I might just toss it all in a big box! Wish me luck! {grin} For my pretty cross-stitch threads, I chose to use my excess supply of mason jars to organize them. Craft Room Ideas – Portable Kids Craft Station
Looking for ideas to keep the kids busy on those long winter days? I have some craft room ideas... or better yet... craft station ideas to help you keep the kids busy and you sane! {wink} Whether you have a dedicated craft room or not, you can whip up a mini craft station full of kid craft supplies like this one. I took a metal tray, mason jars, mini pails and a wooden dowel on a base (something I made) and used them to organize all my kid's favorites: glitter, glue, crayons, paints, googly eyes, pom poms, markers and Washi tape. Once you have all these things together, the kids are drawn to them like bees to honey. {grin} They can't help but create things. I had to replenish the googly eyes on day one! You can find all these craft supplies and organization ... [Read More]
art camp + project ideas
Images taken with my iPhone and edited with Camera+ and PicFrame My oldest attended an art camp this summer hosted by the art teacher from his school. When he told me she had a barn on her property and she was holding art classes, and that he R-E-A-L-L-Y wanted to go, this is not what I envisioned... This barn is beautiful on the inside. My camera phone doesn't do it justice. But I really wanted to show you some of her organization ideas, as well as a few of the art projects and crafts he did over the week. Mrs. Gilbert, the owner of Hands On Art Barn, is such a creative soul and her space made me want to go home and incorporate some of her organizational ideas into my own craft room! I mean, how clever is the utensil caddy for all her brushes. She can let them dry in the containers ... [Read More]
